New Mika: Exploring an Innovative Facade Design in Patiala

Building's facade is the most vital feature on the outside. This visual attraction should be an intriguing interplay of volume, scale, light, and shadow that improves the building's functionality and aesthetic value. Although designers have always been interested in building facade design, yet the development of contemporary finishes has encouraged them even more to create futuristic facades.

Curating any interior design requires a progressing attitude which has to focus on all the requirements and making subtle, elegant statements. With operations in more than 100 nations, Greenland Industries has set high standards in the surface solutions industry. The brand has successfully demonstrated "the science of art in a living space" and with the help of the. architects, the products simply create style out of simplicity.

Embracing the Journey

An architect by profession and a travel lover, Ar. Rajinder Bawa of Ark forms has marked his niche in the world of designing. He started his practice in Patiala around 11 years back. The team so far has handled around 500 projects which are absolutely magnificent and this project is also one of his best curations. Dr. Garg's House is an epitome of contemporary bliss and modern architectural development which resonates with all of the client’s requirements. The overall interior design of the house is also a visual retreat with contemporary furniture and lighting style, also backed by a smart designing approach.
Dr. Garg came to meet the architect as the reference of one of his friends and he said he needed a house with open space, lot of light. The size of his plot was 400 square yards and the built up area is approximately 7000 square feet. His desire was to have two bedrooms, a living area, open area for kids and an open space to play. Keeping in mind these requirements, the team started planning and started the design.

Focusing on the Challenge

The main challenge which the design team faced was to have a facade design’s visibility really intact and attractive with the narrow road format. The design came out in such a way that the front facade of the building had an ‘out of the box’ design. Yes, that literally is the view! The designer thought of giving it an edgy look in which the building is becoming the focal point from the maximum perspective with enhanced visibility.

HPL for External Cladding

In all the modern architectural developments, exterior cladding is essential. It gives the entire building a more contemporary appearance, increases energy efficiency, and shields the structure from the weather. High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) cladding is a remarkable option because of its durable qualities and adaptability in design.
Improving the appearance of buildings is one of the main advantages of HPL cladding. With the variety of colors, textures, and finishes that HPL cladding offers, architects can create any style they want.

Benefits of NewMika HPL

Story of the facades, in this outstanding project, expresses the client’s demand to have a rectangular and minimalistic look which is bold yet beautiful and also exudes a stupendous facade elevation design. Referring to it as the box house, the architect mentions that the materials used in the process of the facade development are also unique. With the help of different materials like sandstone and grit wash- they wanted a contrasting product which could give the result of a chic finish. Taking the base design style as the lines for the building facade, the architect used HPL for the facade design. NewMika Fix had the desired HPL range which was just perfect for the design style. It’s UV protected, fire and weather resistant and requires zero maintenance. The client undoubtedly trusted the brand for the amazing quality which is truly evident!
