Qubik Infra, one of the prominent players in the country’s infrastructure industry, recently secured a significant contract in Goa. Their task involves constructing an entire psychiatric hospital at Bambolim, within the premises of Goa Medical College. This project was awarded to the company in June 2022, with a stipulated completion timeline of 1.5 years. The endeavour, currently underway, has received approval from the Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (GSIDC) and is scheduled for completion by the end of this year.

Spanning an extensive area of 96,000 sqm, this new addition to the Goa Medical College, executed by Qubik Infra, aligns with the imperative of addressing the mounting mental health concerns in the country, particularly within Goa. There are reports of 40 to 50 daily cases of individuals grappling with issues such as depression, anxiety, and suicidal tendencies in Goa. The new facility will be equipped with state-of-the-art amenities and will place individuals under the care of certified counsellors who employ specialised therapeutic interventions. Qubik Infra is presently engaged in the construction of three distinct structures within this hospital, encompassing living quarters, a R&D block, and a kitchen block.

Speaking about this development, Nikhil Jain, the CEO of Qubik Infra, expressed, "Lately, local authorities have been prioritising the development of top-tier infrastructure in Goa, with the aim of elevating it into a world-class state for all. This project, valued at approximately Rs. 105 crores, is nearing completion and will be ready to serve individuals in need of rehabilitation from various parts of the country by 2024.”

According to him, Qubik Infra has maintained a remarkable record in the infrastructure sector in Goa. “We have successfully completed significant projects, such as the Jogger's Park in Panaji and a Disaster Management Shelter funded by the World Bank. We are also actively involved in various ongoing projects, including the Dr. Shyam Parasad Mukherjee Stadium and Bicholim Fire Station. Remarkably, this hospital marks our fifth collaboration with GSIDC," he asserted.

The hospital's design is aimed at providing a comfortable, homely environment for patients and boasts a capacity of 500 beds.
