Classy and Chic Furniture applications showcased by Canadian Wood at India Wood 2022

Beautifully and aesthetically made furniture from the legally harvested and certified wood species from sustainably managed forests of British Columbia is a rare sight that anyone can witness. This was made possible by the Forestry Innovation Consulting India Pvt. Ltd., the Crown Agency of the provincial Government of British Columbia (B.C.), commonly known as Canadian Wood at the India Wood 2022 exhibition.
The Indian Wood event is an International Trade Fair specially designed for the wood and the woodworking industry inclusive of re-man products, manufacturing technologies, tools and machinery, coatings and adhesives, and other related wood industry products. It provides great relationship and business-building opportunities for wood products, woodworking, and allied products industry to showcase their exclusive products.
Addressing the occasion, Mr. Pranesh Chhiber- Country Director, Canadian Wood, said, "This year we have done a little differently than the last couple of years. This year, we are putting as much emphasis on re-man applications at the exhibition. There were doors, windows, furniture, a wardrobe, and a kitchen made of Canadian wood species showcased at our stall. India Wood is a perfect opportunity for people from different spheres of the woodworking industry to connect. We connect developers with architects, architects with contractors, and contractors with wood suppliers and so on.”
Canadian Wood, partnered with renowned manufacturers in and around Bengaluru to create wood-related products made from the Canadian Wood species to showcase them at the exhibition. The primary emphasis was on furniture, doors, Door-Frame & Windows, Wood Interiors, and Outdoor applications. Each section of the stall was given to individual manufacturers to showcase their products made from Canadian Wood species. The Kalatmak Spatial Systems, Bengaluru designed the bedroom furniture, Angira Interiors LLKelachandra Veneers, Bengaluru designed the living room furniture, and Nesca Homes, Hyderabad designed the sliding doors, windows, and the Pergola. The entire theme was designed in earth and warm tones with graceful aesthetics and ambient furniture applications.
Canadian Wood has been an active contributor to the skill development program of India by supporting via collaborations. They have supported the furniture and fittings Skill Council for the Skill India Competition. Winners of India Skills 2022 will represent India at World Skills 2022, Shanghai. Three competitions in India are focusing on Carpentry, Joinery, and Cabinet Making; which are very distinctive in trades that require processing and preparation of wood differently. Canadian Wood has been contributing by providing resources and making the whole initiative a reality in itself.
